Breathing Life into a Pandemic

A Comprehensive COVID-19 response plan for a social welfare network

The Problem

In collaboration with FreshSight, a long-standing food provider for underserved people that also acts as a local community center, sought to rebuild its operations, funding, and community outreach in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Combined with a vague strategic direction and internal documentation, the client’s ability to serve its community was threatened by future impacts on funding access.

The Solution

The FSQ team identified the need for an overarching business plan to assist the client in acquiring sufficient funding to meet demand increases, diversify its donors and volunteers, and stay updated on changing stakeholder needs. Taking a multifaceted approach, our team created a Grant Database with tailored criteria and compiled ranking of prioritized funding sources; conducted a series of Community Need Assessments to address volunteers and donors’ concerns; and built a Stakeholder Targeting Plan, including a Donor Journey Marketing Analysis.

The Impact

This project gave FreshSight an amazing opportunity to work on something necessary for the well-being of many individuals, families, and communities in the area. To be able to contribute to a cause as crucial and selfless – like the staff and volunteers that our client works with daily – was a true privilege.
