Project Spotlight: St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation


The Problem

A major hospital foundation, located in downtown Toronto, was looking to broaden its revenue sources and engage a larger demographic of donors. FreshSight partnered with them in 2024 to develop a cause marketing strategy and kickoff plan. Cause marketing is a collaboration between a non-profit and a business, designed to promote the business’ sales and the non-profit’s cause. Well-known examples include Tim Horton’s Smile Cookie or Bell Let’s Talk day.

The Solution

FSQ designed a 5-year roadmap outlining the plan for launching their cause marketing program, complete with a partner acquisition package, an outreach tracker and implementation guides. The roadmap includes yearly checkpoints and key milestones, as well as KPIs to monitor the progress of each campaign. Additionally, FSQ identified over 100 Toronto-based businesses as potential cause marketing partners for the client to begin reaching out to.

The Impact

FreshSight’s strategy and deliverables are the foundation of the client’s new cause marketing program, which aims to generate $50,000 in net new revenue in the first year.  These funds will allow this major Canadian hospital to continue operations and advance research and medical innovations impacting countless lives.
